Circle Time

During circle time we take attendance, enjoy letter & number games, pick out daily duties ex: teacher helper, perform morning stretches, check the calendar & weather, share thoughts, sing songs, and have story time.

Art

Each day we have an art project that incorporates either the Monthly Theme, Famous Achiever, Weekly Exploration, or a Daily Discovery. Before we dive into the hands-on portion, we discuss topic concepts, art techniques, and the day’s mediums.

Snack & lunch

Bonding while breaking bread. Students bring their own lunch and snack, and we kindly ask that they be free of nut products.

Gym

We keep our active bodies strong and fit with daily stretches and exercise. During this time we also work on balance and coordination while learning skills like catching, throwing, kicking, and playing games that incorporate our gross motor functions.

Ready for school (rfs)

Every day our Little Explorers will be introduced to concepts and skills that will assist them in getting Ready for School.  Lessons include phonics, letter, number, and shape recognition.  Children will be introduced to reading and story comprehension. Lessons will include identifying concepts such as long and short, same or different, big and small etc.  Skills such as the use of scissors and writing instruments, glue sticks, paint brush etc. will also be used during this time. All of these lessons offer exposure to our younger friends and experience to our older students.

Free play & peace time

Free play is how we start our day. Our students enjoy making new friends and building social skills while playing with various toys, games, and puzzles; and greeting all of our friends during morning drop-off.

Peacetime is a way that we wind down and reflect on our day. During this time we share stories, songs and say our goodbyes.

Monthly Themes

Our Program includes a monthly theme with Weekly Exploration and Daily Discoveries.
For example: October: Space, Week 1: Planets, Monday: Mission to Mars.

Famous Achievers

Every month we honor a Famous Achiever that we incorporate into our monthly theme. Famous achievers of the past have included: Martin Luther King Jr., Michelangelo, Claude Monet, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and others.

COMMUNITY STEWARDSHIP

Our Explorers are always learning how to be stewards to their communities by hosting food and clothes drives and being active participants in the act of reducing, reusing and recycling.

It is our mission at Little Explorers to give children the tools to become independent, empowered, and caring individuals; while fostering a love of learning.
